A content Management System (CMS) is a system used to manage the content of a website. Typically, a CMS consist of two elements: the content management application (CMA) and the content delivery application (CDA). The CMA element allows the content manager or author, who may know Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), to manage the creation, modification, and removal of content from a website without needing the expertise of a webmaster. The CDA element uses and compiles that information to update the website. The feature of a CMS system may vary but must include Web-based publishing, format management, revision, control, indexing, search & retrieval.
As per client’s requirement and suggestion, we have implemented SilverCMS-2.0 with dynamic features.
A robust and easy to use CMS is to be integrated, configured and installed to manage documents and output for multiple author editing and participation.
Database has to be incorporated to store page content, metadata and other information that might be needed by the system.
A presentation layer displays the content to Portal on a set of templates.
Dynamic URL rewriting is provisioned in this Portal when the page or other data is created.
Administration is typically done through browser-based interfaces.
This CMS allows non – technical users to make changes to a Portal with little training which typically requires an authorized user to set up and add features, but it is primarily a Portal maintenance tool for non – technical staff.
