The client is a Ministry of Finance – Government of United Arab Emirates.
Client’s requirement was to develop an intranet portal and multiple sub-sites for various departments under the Ministry of Finance. These sites were required to be accessible to the employees only. These sites were to be presented in two languages (English & Arabic). Main functions of these sites comprise of User Management, Document Management, News & Announcement, Event Management, Weather Information Management, HR Management and some Department Specific functions.
Silver Touch provided a comprehensive solution in MOSS 2007 platform which replaced the existing Intranet application. The technology was selected based on the current client infrastructure and preference – but also based on the versatile and robust Microsoft platform to handle the large active user base. The intranet application was made accessible from the client premises only to the staff members (employees) using domain account. The intranet application was developed using User Management, Document Management and Content Management functionalities of MOSS 2007.
This application is helping the administrators from finance department and its employees to perform their task based on roles and as per the workflow. The finance department is now able to exchange the information and manage the documents in a more efficient & secured manner.
