An Automated Solution of Driving Test Track for Gujarat RTO

The government has realized the vision of automating processes and workflows internally and enabled much efficient operations and transparency in citizen-government transactions. The government agencies have improved and expanded social services, stimulated and accelerated recovery of economic stability to provide better customer service. With escalated workload and increased technology solutions, transport department of Gujarat Government needed an automated solution for driving test track. Regional Transport Office (RTO) is entrusted with transpositional responsibilities of providing efficient transport services, control vehicular pollution, registration of new vehicles and issue driving licenses with ease. The aim is to transcend the structure of public administrations and transportation by improving internal operating systems. Silver Touch Technologies Ltd. provided an ideal automated solution to sustain and enhance e-civil services and meet modernized goals of the country. The company built an Automated Driving Test Track Application on Build, Operate, Own and Transfer (BOOT) model for 15 locations including Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat. The automated infrastructure of driving test track is developed using all-weather materials and wireless sensors that helps conduct driving tests throughout the year. The application is integrated with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) to authenticate candidates taking real tests. The sensors installed at a distance of 1m each and remotely positioned cameras record the entire test accurately. Users can book an appointment for a driving test and also track indvidual application status online. Daily about 2700 tests arte conducted successfully.
